The special exhibition for Interior Innovation Award 2011 during imm cologne 2011 and Living Kitchen will mean even greater exposure for Duropal Illusion.

Of course, this is not the first time a Duropal product or a design employing a Duropal product has won a design award or other industry recognition or accolade.

For instance, at the 2009 interzum trade fair, the Duropal high-pressure laminate (HPL) product – ‘SolidColor’
was selected as a prize winner for its ‘high product quality’ during the design competition for the ‘interzum award: intelligent material & design’ award. This dyed-through laminate had already been awarded the ‘Innovation Prize Architecture and Office XXL’ the previous year.

Designer Hans Hansen won the coveted ‘red dot design award’ for his ‘Library’ modular storage and shelving system made of Duropal HPL-Solid, a high-pressure laminate from Duropal. “I am fascinated by such an honest form of material,” said the designer from Arnsberg (Germany). “I work with HPL-Solid in the same way as with sheet steel – with the difference that HPL doesn’t dent. [It's] both robust and hard wearing”.

Duropal domestic kitchen worktops were awarded a FIRA Gold Award in 2007. The award states that the products manufactured by Duropal ‘have undergone full testing in the FIRA laboratories in accordance with British Standards, European Standards and FIRA standards and have been evaluated for aspects including workmanship, finish performance, adhesion performance, environmental response and substrate performance.’

Since that time, kitchens by various designers the world over have won awards using Duropal’s innovative products.
